Overview
Pre-finished planks come from the factory with finish already cured. Installation is faster, the smell of sanding and finish is skipped entirely, and you walk on the floors the same day they're laid.

Pre-finished is the right call when timeline matters most: a renter moving in, a kitchen reno on a hard schedule, or a second home where you can't be there for sanding days. We work with most major brands and can spec everything from budget engineered to wide-plank rift-and-quartered white oak.
Pre-finished installs are quick — but they're also less forgiving. Tiny variations in subfloor height telegraph as click-clack underfoot, and a sloppy installer leaves micro-bevel gaps you can feel in bare feet. We level subfloors to within 3/16" over 10 feet, mat the floor in underlayment when required, and pull every transition to a fitted reducer rather than a quarter-round shortcut.

Spec the product
Species, plank width, finish, edge type, brand. We bring physical samples.

Acclimate
Even pre-finished plank needs 3–5 days in the home before install.

Level subfloor
Self-leveling compound where required to hit flatness spec.

Underlayment & install
Vapor barrier and acoustic underlayment per product spec, then nail or floating install.

Trim & transitions
Reducers, T-moldings, and stair noses milled to match.

Is pre-finished as durable as site-finished?
The factory finish is harder, but it's only as thick as the bevel allows. Site-finished floors can be re-coated as a single sheet; pre-finished requires more careful refinishing later.
What plank widths can you install?
We've installed everything from 2 1/4" strip to 9" wide-plank European white oak. Wider plank requires flatter subfloors — we'll measure and tell you what's possible.
